CORAL SPRINGS, FL – When Hamas launched a savage attack on Israel last month, the owner of a Coral Springs print and design company wanted to raise money to help victims.
Meryl Katlin teamed up with her friend Lori Kitaygorodsky and colleague Guillermo Ayllon to launch a new T-shirt line with proceeds going to an aid organization called Brothers and Sisters for Israel.
“We wanted to do something that mattered and was going to be noticed,” said Katlin, owner TypeStyles Inc. and MakeATeeOnline.
They created two shirts: one with the word Love on the front and the other with word Forever on the front, both using the letter “v” to show the flag and map of Israel.
On the shirts’ back: the words Brothers and Sisters For Israel, as in the name of the organization benefiting from the sale of the shirts.
Sold online, each shirt costs $36 – a symbolic number in Judaism which basically means “double life” as an $18 donation is considered a chai (life).
